In social studies
students are
beginning to
understand that
there are many ways
to study history and
all aspects of a
society.
Conducting a survey
is a way to gather
data that involves
asking people
questions. In order
to complete a group
survey about our
heritage, we
collected raw data
and then organized
it using a tally and
frequency chart. The
final step was to
display the data in
the form of a line
graph. This allows
us to identify
patterns and trends
about out ancestors.
Our class concluded
that most of our
ancestors came from
Europe. Now each
student is ready to
conduct an
independent survey
on a topic of their
choice.
