As I write this first blog post, I am awestruck at the fact that Thanksgiving is less than one week away.  It seems like just yesterday we were finalizing schedules, checking off orders for teachers, and welcoming the students through the door for the first day.  My, how time flies when you are having fun! Yes, fun!  Our jobs in schools are challenging mentally, emotionally, and physically but they are fun!  To see the smile on a student's face after they have figured out a difficult concept or to watch them grow into young adults and responsible citizens are all motivating experiences that are well worth the difficulties.  This year at Thanksgiving, we all have so much to be thankful for.  We live in a beautiful spot in New Jersey, we have students who want to do well and enjoy learning, we have a motivated and talented staff, and we have support for all of the wonderful programs at Frenchtown School.  This is enough to make us thankful each and every day, but especially this time of year.

I am beginning the work of blogging onto this site at least weekly.  This is a chance for more communication and more transparency between school and home.  I am new to blogging so I am learning as I go.  I am looking forward to this new journey and in trying something new! CL
